Two Arrests in the Aftermath of Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
