19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt

A comeback Medvedev won his first trophy for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has had a difficult season, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in particular - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and finally splitting with long-time mentor Cervara.

Currently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt after spring of that year.

The win also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one different events.

"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children together, so to secure a championship is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and recurring reactions on court had prompted observers to question if his ability to perform at the top level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and play assertively, reinforced by an better serving game.

He fought back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky opponent, securing 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players swapped break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial tour title, gained dominance to force a final set.

He defended 4 early-game chances in a tight final set before the Russian broke to 15 to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he secured victory with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
