Cars in German City Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities stated they were contacted by a resident who found a vehicle in Hanau covered with reddish substance

Roughly fifty vehicles have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.

Police say they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.

The substance had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they stated.

Police then found numerous other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state early analysis indicate the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no clue as to where it came from; investigators are currently not cognizant of any harm in connection with the incident," they added.

City officials announced they were trying "to unravel the case" and have asked to the residents for information.

An important political figure said the attack made him speechless and needed to be solved promptly.

"This incident hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he posted on online, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at individuals of migrant background in 2020.
